Yes, I'm not a reader of lengthy books,
You may read words in some of the entries in my port that I was never an avid reader of books and novels. When I do that, it must be a feeling of guilt that comes over me, but it is very true. I never had the patience to deal with pages of text that could have just been written in a couple of paragraphs. I still ponder why that is so. It certainly is not the mark of a true writer. It’s not that I detest reading. That is far from the truth, because I am interested in current events as long as they come to the point quickly. I enjoy reading magazines such as Good Housekeeping, Family Circle, and the Reader’s Digest for their moving short stories, food recipes, and health content.

But I should enhance my reading further. Instead, I tend to pick up a fashion catalog, a cookbook, or anything about crocheting and plastic canvas projects.

Yet, I have discovered that my writing has improved overall since becoming a member of Writing.Com and this site is very precious to me. It has become my home away from home. Besides what I mentioned above, I do try to read the wonderful writings that our members create on this site as long as they are not too long and complicated with academic words that have me running to the dictionary in order to grasp their meaning. Whew! I enjoy the little Novellas and novels as long as the chapters are not too lengthy. I can always come back and read ensuing chapters as they unfold in an author’s port.
