a journey into the drinking glass
amaranthine lemon drops fall and sing
they fall as the rain
they sing as the warbler
they fill the sky with an essence of beauty

they come down drip dropping
and send the creatures to hopping
the pelican, the roof cat,
the caribou and wombat,
are pleasured with drops of tang

i never enjoyed the cack of a crow,
until i paused and then observed
he himself was perched in awe
over the beauty of fanciful lemon drop rain

so i join the chorus of carnivorous crows
of dazzled dandelions and rejoicful does
to pleasure in this priceless patter
of drops of lemon that splash and spatter
