I'm all alone in my little home
and the lightening crashes outside.
This storm reminds me of my lover,
the one who threatened suicide.
She clapped and she roared all night
wanting someone to be concerned.
Finally when all her dazzle was spent
we looked up, but nothing lay burned.
The ground was soaked with tears
and the worms were coming up dead.
This time sorrow lost the battle
and only the doves went fed.
So now here I sit in my chair
watching the roaring, pounding rain.
Admiring its efforts to sadden the day
while things really remain just the same.
