It can be hard to forget, can't it?
[piano]

It never ceases.
Oh, the memories.
How they float around...
They're bounding in my head.

Though I'm young,
I can't help it.
So much has happened in my life,
and I find myself carrying the memories.

It's there in my mind
and there on the street.
Everything around me is
a shadow of what it once was.

People 'round me try to ignore the shadows in so many ways,
but all I seem to do is
remember the days.

[instrumental]

And these gloomy halls
of this deadlocked institution
lie memorial to a past
I once knew.

So many changes,
all at the same time;
wonder how many know
about this progressing.

There's a painting on the wall,
but the podium is gone.
The letters changed their color,
and the cafeteria's expanded.

If I was to come back,
I would simply be amazed.
This place will have changed more.
It just might forget the days.

Some things you just can't forget,
even in a mental haze.
You can always call back
to your heydays.

Some people seem to be living
in the here and now.
I remember the past, and sometimes
it brings me down.

My nature, though, will not allow me
to shake myself from this daze.
So from now until forever
I will remember the days.

[instrumental]

Many people here
have their different roots.
Academically, I've seen them
all in my life.

The disabled kids,
on level and honors...
I paid my visits, and then
I went to IB.

I'm friendly with the homecoming queen,
but my love's unpopular.
Met quite a number of people in my time
despite the fact I'm a recluse.

[piano]

Emotions-they change.
They move faster than light.
They unite and divide
acquaintances and strangers.

Couples drift together
before they drift apart.
You enter with a set of friends,
and when you're done you've separated.

People always remember other people,
no matter who they are.
I know I'll be remembered
even if I didn't do a single thing.

You may feel you've done nothing,
but be that as it may,
people will look back on you and
remember the days.

Some things you can't forget
even in a mental haze.
You can always call back
to your heydays.

Some people seem to be living
in the here and now.
I remember the past, and sometimes
it brings me down.

My nature, though, will not allow me
to shake myself from this daze,
so from now until forever
I will remember the days.

[break]

I will remember the days.
