a poem from my younger years when a Christian |
Inner Peace for me, you cry. O let it be for me. Inner Peace for me, you sigh, can nothing set me free? Will it come with softer tongue or will it come with death? A shutting out of worldly mirth, that peace for which you long. Can you with your money buy things to sooth your way? Pleasures yes - but 'peace' you cry more desperate with each day. Is inner peace a human trend that you will be denied? Shall I tell you this, my friend, I know, because I've tried. Not alone will you find peace, no matter how you try. Not even when the world shall cease, not even when you die. You're man, my friend, of Adams mesh. From that you'll never stray until you crucify your flesh and enter Christ someday. ~~~~~~~~~ You Only have to Ask You only have to take if friend, you only have to ask. Just put your faith in him, my friend it's such a simple task Then Inner peace for you, for him to graft you on the vine. He'll take away your every sin his love will be Divine. His spirit will come flooding in Your life will be complete. Your Inner peace amidst the din, will worship at his feet. Inner Peace at last you've found, your heart will beat much faster. Your feet will sometimes leave the ground. Shout 'Halleluiah Master!' |
