Names Of Allah (God)

Introduction :

Religious scholars have related that Allah (God) has 3,000 names. 1,000 are known to angels, 1,000 known only by prophets, 300 are in the Torah(the holy book of Jews), 300 are in the Zabur, 300 are in the Injil (the Bible), 99 are in the Quran (the holy book of Muslims), and all this makes 2,999 names of Allah. One name which has been hidden by Allah is called "Ism Allah al-a'zam": The Greatest Name of Allah.

All of Allah's names are great, but since He has hidden this particular name, it is reffered to as the Greatest name. The name is mentioned in the Quran, according to some sound ahadith (sayings of prophet Muhammed (pbuh)).

Translation : The Beneficent.
Explanation : He who gives blessings and prosparity to all beings.

2. Attribute : Ar-Rahim.
Translation : The Merciful.
Explanation : He who is Merciful to the Believers in the hereafter.

Translation : The Sovereign Lord.
Explanation : He who is absolute king of the entire universe.

4. Attribute : Al-Quddus.
Translation : The Holy.
Explanation : He who is free from ALL error, and any kind of defect.

5. Attribute : As-Salaam.
Translation : The source of Peace.
Explanation : He who frees His servants from all danger and obstruction.

Translation : The Guardian of Faith.
Explanation : He who places faith in the hearts of His servants, protects those who seek refuge in Him, and gives tranquility.

Explanation : He who watches over and protects All things.

8. Attribute : Al-Aziz.
Translation : The Mighty.
Explanation : The Unconquerable.

9. Attribute : Al-Jabbar.
Translation : The Completer.
Explanation : He who repairs all broken things, who completes that which is incomplete, and who has the ability, with force, to make people do whatever He wants.

Explanation : He who shows His greatness in all things and in all ways.

Translation : The Creator.
Explanation : He who creates everything from nothing and creates all things with the knowledge of what will happen to them.

Explanation : He who has knowledge of the most secret parts of everything, and knows their inner meaning.

Explanation : He who is higher than any action. manner or condition and any thought that any being may have. This Attribute indicates that Allah is the higher than the most evolved thought of man.
