I awake,
The incandescent sun,
Beating steadily upon my skin,
The palm fronds swaying lazily,
On the clam ocean breeze,
Dappling the golden sands.
Paradise.
I look,
The sea glistening brilliant blue,
Under the sun's inquisitive rays,
The tide creeping ever onwards,
Up the tropical sands,
At the shells and sandalwood scattered on the beach.
Paradise.
I stand,
The creepers hang like snakes from the palms,
The ground oozing a tropical heat,
A birds cries echoing from the jungles depths,
The clear topaz waters effulgent and serene,
A school of tropical fish weaving through the warm waters.
Paradise.
I walk,
Along the bleached sands ,
To the waterfall,
Cascading down the jagged rocks of the cliff,
A fine spray covering my skin,
So that it glistens like morning dew.
Paradise.
I stop,
Staring at the firmament,
Filled with orange reds and bronze coloured streaks,
As the sun dips below the horizon,
The firey colours reflected in the tranquil waters,
Fade to an inky black, littered with stars,
Glittering like diamonds.
Just another day in paradise.
