A retarded cybernetic organism that wants to keep his pet pony.
The gravelly wind was as delightful as ever in the mornings when he fed his pony the peppers and squirrels.

It was a morning made for rainbows and corpses so he gave little thought of the Elders saying that a retarded Cyborg shouldn’t have a pet pony.

He knew he wasn’t retarded. His ear itched where waxy oil had seeped onto his shoulder, He didn’t care if there were those stupid nano-chips suspended in the oily ooze. After all, wasn’t it the nano-technology that had caused his problems? Everyone’s problems? He had always sensed he was more then a fancy construct of divine creation. He was much more. He was Snookie and he had a pet pony.

He caressed his pony where it’s mane once was, and marveled at its appetite as it nuzzled his hand to consume the dank green peppers and the giggling squirrel.

As he inhaled he could hear the pinging sounds of gravel striking the inside of his mouth. He found himself remembering what the Elders had said to him. “Snookie, retarded cybernetic organisms should not have the responsibility for a pony.”

Snookie thought they were just jealous. There weren’t very many ponies anymore. But that was okay he had his pony.

Snookie continued to pet his pony as he looked out on the awe-inspiring morning. He never ceased to admire the way the millions of corpses had managed to arrange themselves in such a chaotic and stick-like picturesque disorder. It was long ago when he ceased wondering who were boys and who were girls in the pretty field. They all were the same skeletal sticks of striking anarchistic sexless art. Snookie knew that there was creator. Things of such beauty just didn’t happen by themselves.

Pony had tried to move out of his reach. The pony pranced about indifferent to the ropy drool dangling from his mouth. Snookie then noticed that pony was missing an ear. Snookie looked into his hard dusty hand and saw the pock marked ear of pony.

Pony danced in circles as its saliva was slung everywhere. Snookie cackled heartily at pony.

It was time for their walk so he and pony frolicked off towards the forest. Snookie marveled at the towering gaunt forest. It was as if this place had been plucked from Snookie’s coziest dreams. The pleasant grit of the powerful wind continued to ping upon him sending thrums of excitement through him. Pony’s eyes squinted and bled profusely. Pony was having fun and because of it Snookie was happy.

The skeletal trees were teeming with giggling squirrels as they scampered hither and thither in the bony canopy.

Snookie knew how much pony loved squirrels.

Snookie was thinking about catching some squirrels for pony when he noticed the approach of an Elder.

Darn thought Snookie, I was having so much fun, now an Elder is going to come along and ruin everything. He reached out and rested his gravelly hand on pony’s withers. Pony whinnied wetly as clear drool seeped out of its mouth where a tooth had once been.

The elder stood before Snookie and looked down in condescending judgment. “Snookie” Said the Elder, “Pony has lost a tooth” The elder pointed to the ground at Snookie’s feet where there was a tooth in a puddle of drool. Snookie stooped down and picked up the tooth and showed it to pony, who then lapped up the tooth and crunched it down. The Elder and Snookie shared a good laugh.

“Pony is always hungry.” Snookie stated.

“Yes so we’ve noticed.” Chuckled the Elder.

Snookie drew back when the Elder reached out to touch his ear. “Snookie you should have that looked at. It will cause you some real problems shortly. Come with me and I can have some one fix that and there will be plenty of chocolate and lizards to feed pony.”

“Pony loves chocolate and lizards” Exclaimed Snookie. Pony was so excited that it didn’t seem to care that it was running into the bony trees in its excitement.

“Oh look at pony!” Shouted Snookie gleefully. “Pony is so funny. I love pony.”

“Yes Snookie I can finally see that.” Purred the Elder, “Get pony and we can get your ear fixed, okay Snookie?”

“Can I keep pony then?” Asked Snookie hopefully.

The Elder sighed as his L.E.D.’s twinkled with avuncular insight. “Yes you can Snookie. You can keep pony.”

They strolled off together through the forest of skeletal trees with their giggling squirrels. They entered the gorgeous dwelling of the Elders with their blacken twisted towers of steel and globular green mounds of glass. The Elder’s cable wrapped lovingly around Snookie’s dirty hand, and pony, who was limping from losing a hoof.

They lived together happily ever after until the radiation faded from their hearts and all that was left, was a tangled piled of rotted happy metal and the beautiful bleached bones of pony.
