Joy In Serving Others |
Day after day the marionette leaps, twirls and lands with effortless grace. When the dance is done he bows and knows the credit for every bit of movement goes to the one that created him and works the strings. Every move he makes is to glorify him. His strings are the gifts provided by the one above and he is grateful to be part of putting them to good use. Without them he would be nothing, a useless piece of wood cast into the fire but with them he can be a part of brightening the eyes of poor children and helping adults to forget their burdens for a while. The marionette is thankful to he that pulls the strings, strings that bring him a life of worth and service. It is to him that enables the marionette that he humbly bows down. Our Lord God created and gifted each of us with our own special abilities and like the marionette, let us use those gifts to glorify our maker. Let us not ignore the tugs on our own strings lest we be deemed useless and cast into the fire. God loves us and we should show that we love him also by using the gifts he gives us in service to others. Ease a burden, speak a kind word, give a helping hand or a hug to someone having a bad day. There are many ways. There is no greater gift that will glorify the Lord than putting the gifts he has given us to good use, not for ourselves but for the benefit of others. -AlanT |
