Be thankful for what you have.
When I have enough food,
help me remember
to feed the hungry.

When I have steady work,
help me to
remember the jobless.

When my home is warm and cozy,
help me remember
and aid the homeless.

When I am not hurting,
help me remember of
those who are still suffering.

And when remembering, help me
to destroy my complacency and
push forward my compassion
for those who will deny it to others
with their cruelty and evil intent.

Make me worry enough to help,
by my word
and by my deeds,
for those who scream out
for what we take for granted.

Let me show my humanity
when so many
others refuse to
through their
selfishness.
