A heartfelt look at the challenges and perseverance behind every indie author’s journey. |
Being an indie author is a rollercoaster ride of emotions. We pour our hearts into our stories, spending countless late nights and early mornings crafting characters, worlds, and words that we hope will resonate with readers. Yet, the hardest chapter of this journey often comes after "The End" is written—getting our work noticed. We hit "publish" with hope brimming in our chests, only to face the echo of an empty sales dashboard. We celebrate every download, every review, as if they were gold because, to us, they are. We pour ourselves into marketing—learning ads, social media, and algorithms—while balancing work, life, and the ever-present voice whispering, "Maybe this won’t work." But we keep going. Because we believe in our stories. We believe they have a place in this crowded world of books. And most of all, we believe that every reader we touch makes the struggle worth it. To all my fellow indie authors: keep writing, keep learning, and keep believing. Your words matter. Your journey matters. And one day, your perseverance will shine as brightly as the stories you create. |
