I once noticed a tree being reflected onto the water…
Does this tree ever see its reflection in the water, shaking because of the ripples on the water’s surface? Is that reflection the only way for the tree to see itself, causing the tree to think that it is shaking even though it’s an illusion conjured up by the water? Does the tree accept its situation as reality, or does it sometimes question whether or not it is seeing the whole picture? “I don’t feel myself shaking”, it might say to itself, “but I certainly see myself shaking over in that reflection, so I guess I must be.” Does the tree ever feel ashamed of itself for its non-stop shaking, unaware of the fact that the shaking is an illusion and is out of the tree’s control?
