I will dance alone but would dance with you.

Dancing Alone

I know when I see you.
I am a moth drawn to flame.
There is a light in your eyes
It dances, full of swirls and twirls.

It is sometimes a sad dance.
I always miss the crucial step.

When you smile I am lost.
There is no-one else in the room.
My smile is amplified.
Then I look away.

I look around the room.
Everything is new, and blue.
I've never been happier.
Never have I been so alone.

It is sometimes a sad dance.
I always miss the crucial step.

I silently laugh.
Sometimes with joy.
Sometimes with tears.
While dancing alone.

It is sometimes a sad dance.
I always miss the crucial step.

Then I find your eyes.
They draw me in again.
I long for your warm touch
Your consuming smile.

It maybe just a dream.
A fantasy, a wish.
To know I'm not alone.
As another dance ends.
