THE WHOLE WORLD CAN NOT AFFORD THE RISK OF LOSING THE GATEWAYS OF THE SEAS. WE ALL DEPEND ON TRADE THAT TRAVELS THROUGH BOTH THE SUEZ AND PANAMA CANALS. WITHOUT THEIR WATERGATES-- OUR TRADE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD WOULD BE HINDERED-- CAUSING UNNECESSARY LENGTHLY TRAVEL TIMES FOR SHIPS TO PORT THEIR GOODS. GOING AROUND ENTIRE CONTINENTS FOR DESTINATIONS. THIS IS MORE THAN AN INCONVENIENCE-- IT IS LOST TIME AND MORE COSTLY NOT TO USE BOTH THE CANANS FOR THE TRANSPORTING OF SHIPPED GOODS. IT IS MORE THAN DOUBLE THE COST OF CONTAINER SHIPS FROM PORT TO PORT. BOTH EXPORTING AND IMPORTING ROUTING WOULD BE VERY, VERY LENGTHY AND COSTLY WITHOUT BOTH WATERGATES. WE ARE ALREADY EXPERIENCING THE PANAMA LOW WATERS MAKING IT TWO WEEKS FOR SHIPS TO TRAVEL THROUGH. AND, NOW THE SUEZ WATERGATE CANAL IS AT THE RED SEA PORT WHERE MISSILE EXCHANGE IS HAPPENING AT THIS TIME. IT SEEMS YEMAN IS STRIKING WHILE THE US IS RETALIATING PRESENTLY. NOT ONLY LIVES ARE LOST BUT TIME AND ENERGY TO MAKE OUR TRADE ROUTES RUN SMOOTHLY AGAIN. THE RED SEA IS VERY POPULAR FOR CONTAINER SHIPS AND DEPENDS ON THE SUEZ CANAL WATERGATES AS I WRITE. WITHOUT THE SMOOTH FLOW OF TRADE SHIPPING-- WE AT ALL OUR HOMES CAN'T DEPEND ON THE GOODS WE HAVE COME TO KNOW AND USE. WE CANNOT LOSE WORLD TRADE OR WE LOSE WHOLE ECONOMIES AND THRIFT. MANY WILL LOSE IF SHIPMENTS ARE HINDERED IN ANY WAY-- WE NOW LIVE IN AN ERA OF EXPORT AND IMPORT FOR OUR GOODS AROUND THE WORLD. WE HAVE TO PROTECT OUR RIGHTS FOR FREE PASSAGE THROUGH THE 'WATERGATE'. |
