- Plot: Outline Revision #2
(1) Review your plot elements thus far and organize them into your outline.
(2) Add a chronological timeline to your revised outline, using whatever measure of time is appropriate in your story. Determine when plot events happen in time (which is not necessarily when you will reveal them in your novel.) See this example composed by JK Rowling while outlining one of her famous Harry Potter novels.
(3) Optional: Brainstorm the best chronology(ies) for your story and work it(them) into your outline.

         The Ring's bell rang, signaling          the departure time was happening.
         At the entrance, ogres waited.
         Requested information on who          was wanted in.
         After announcing who he was, he          allowed in
         In the Ring verification, Zast          is willing to accept his assignment.

         He accepts the assignment.
         Sees three visions.

         Zast is shaken by finding out          he will be a Wizard's Apprentice.
         He cannot find anyone to help          him.
         Finds Sergeant Grunger
         She is not sympathetic.
         Treats him like he has joined          the military.
         Zast gets Sergeant Grunger more          upset.
         Cottonbrush interrupted Grunger
         Cottonbrush asks Grunger to          return to the Black Dragon pen to release energy.
         Cottonbrush will take care of          the recruit.
         Grunger leaves
         Zast never requested a Wizard          Apprenticeship.

         Strange tattoo on neck
         He doesn't know what to write,          so he sends old letters.
         Quinn is vastly different from          Meira.
         His Da was a warrior.

         After Da died, he attended the          Titania Academy of Magicks and Higher Academics.
         His Mem wanted him to be a          wizard like her Da.
         I needed to send Meira a Birth          Celebration scroll.
         We needed an over-ripe piece of          fruit.
         Grabbed the scroll and left          Niche.
         Found a snail to send a          Wishgraph.
         They offered fruit to Snail.
         We waited for the Snail to          accept the fruit.
         After the acceptance, place the          scroll within the shell.
         Something rolls out of the          shell.
         Snail lights up within the          shell.
         A fist-size dirt clod rolls out          and stops at Quinn's feet.
         He picks it up, examines it,          hears someone coming, and places it in his pocket.
         Snail disappears.
         He hears sounds coming down the          path and tries to hide, but not in time.
         It is Blackberry, Petal, and          Solara
         Surprised to see him.
         Alyssum is missing.
         Went with strangers.
         Folre
         Pirphal
         Quinn offered to help.
         Quinn locates them in a closed          Activity Hall
         The window is slightly open.
         He hears Alyssum sobbing.
         Enters an unlocked door.
         Alyssum is begging to leave and          not be hurt anymore.
         Quinn hears a meaty hit to the          soft flesh.
         He hears louder sobbing.
         Loud, raucous laughter
         Quinn quietly sneaks up and          sees a bleeding and beaten Alyssum.
         Quinn jumps over barrels and          lands the two assailants, startling them.
         Pirphal tells Quinn it's a          private party and to leave.
         Quinn refuses to leave.
         Pirphal threatens him.
         Pirphal tells Folre to fight          Quinn.
         Folre starts to move around the          floor with his fists up in a defensive stance.
         Folre keeps dancing around the          floor, thinking he is tiring him out.
         Quinn swings and hits Folre,          knocking him out.
         Pirphal steps forward to fight          Quinn
         Pirphal takes a wide swing at          Quinn and misses.
         Quinn gives Pirphal a jab to          the stomach, winding him.
         They circle one another,          taunting each other.
         Pirphal takes another wide          swing, this time clips Quinn on the top of his head.
         Quinn does another uppercut          with his dominant hand, knocking Quinn back.
         Quinn asks Pirphal if he is          warmed up and ready to fight.
         Pirphal asks, looking          bewildered.
         Pirphal falls over,          unconscious.
         Quinn rushes to Alyssum's side          to assist her.
         She won't let him touch her.
         He tries to calm her down.
         He speaks to her calmly and          softly.
         She finally agrees to leave to          seek medical attention.
         Days later, Alyssum is in the          Medic Center, and Folre and Pirphal are with Constable G'Nar           (Quinn is in a rush to get something to Meira for her Birth          Celebration)
         Constable G'Nar, is a Trollfolk
         Extracting information from          unwilling volunteers is his specialty.
         Holding the prisoners for          extradition
         Elder Inia, a representative of          the Seelie Court, arrives.
         Read the report prepared by          G'Nar.
         Advises no one is to know what          is on the report.
         She provided a backup story.
         Wishes to speak to a pupil at          the academy in secret.
         Small favor
         Speak to Quinn Peteral
         Maria is angry at Quinn for          missing her birth celebration party.
         You missed it, saving Alyssum.
         Who? She doesn't recognize the          name.
         Her friend          
         Her other friends told him she          was taken.
         Quinn tells her the story of          what happened.
         Meira asks if he sent her          anything.
         He states he sent her a          Wishgraph with love.
         He got the Snail's verification          that it was delivered.
         She says it was boring but          having him there is not the same.
         She wants him to come for a          visit soon.
         She has a major surprise for          him.
         Something he will die for
         She stated she knew he would be          sent someplace far away, and her Da could get him remarkably close          to her.
         He tells her it was already          decided.
         He doesn't like her.
         He doesn't want to be around          her.
         Something about her that          unsettled him.
         An Elder from the Seelie Court          has summoned him to the Head Mistress' office.
(Quinn is summoned to the Headmistresses Office unexpectedly)
         Quinn hurries to the office
         Nervous about what this is          about.
         Inia, Blood of My Blood
         Hid Da's sister, his aunt
         Wishing him a Happy Graduation
         Has something for him?
         His Da's chest
         No key to open it.
         No idea what is inside
         History is shared.
         Quinn is the grandson of King.
         His Da renounced his Da and did          not want anything to do with his Da or being a Prince or,          eventually, King.
         King has been searching for          Quinn's Da for years.
         Does not know about Quin.
         He would capture, torture, and          brainwash you if he knew your Da was dead.
         Your Da settled down when he          met your Mem and had you.
         I went to the Outland to live          in a Military base as a trainer.
         Your Mem didn't like it but          could do nothing.
         Eventually, the King found you,          Da, and took him away.
         Quinn goes over to the trunk,          sees a symbol on the chest, and places his hand on it. He feels a          slight tingle in his hand and withdraws his hand away from the          chest; everything freezes around him.
         Inia does not move, and Quinn          cannot get her to speak.
         When he attempts the door, it          will not open.
         A flickering glow comes from          the chest.
         A green flame is burning.
         No heat is felt.
         Water does not put it out.
         Quinn goes to the door,          attempts to open it, and feels heat from his shirt pocket.
         He removes his shirt and finds          a mud ball with a green flame burning around it.
         Recognizes the mud ball from          the Snail.
         Thought he left it in his          Niche.
         Grabs water pitcher and pours          it over mudball flame.
         Nothing happens to the flame.
         Flames are no longer hot to          touch.
         It falls apart to reveal the          key, also burning green.
         He gently touches the key and          finds no heat.
         He picks up the key and goes          back over to the chest.
         Placing lock in left-hand
         Inserting the key into the key          chamber
         I was turning the key until a          loud clicking sound was heard, unlocking the chest.
         Quinn jerks back his left hand          in pain.
         Left has a fresh red welt from          a burn mark of a strange design he has never seen before.
         The pain is intense but is          somehow subsiding.
         Inia continues to talk as if          she never stopped talking.
         Quinn tells her of what          occurred.
         He shows her his hand.
         He asks her to leave while he          examines his Da's chest.
         Quinn opens the chest.
         Quinn finds a Heraldic Shield.
         Three wings long
         One and a half wings in width
         The design on the shield is of          a Long Sword pointing downward with an ornate golden hilt.
         The shield has serrated edging          to inflict damage.
         A Long Sword is found.
         The blade immediately brightens          to a fiery green without the heat.
         He cannot let go of the hilt.
(Quinn is Cursed until he fulfills his Da's obligation)
         He calls his aunt, Inia, back          into the room.
         She recognizes the weapon and          shield.
         The shield's design is that of          Iomadae, the goddess of Righteous Valor and Honor
         Quinn's Da must have made a          Pact with the goddess to get these weapons to aid in his combat.
         He must not have had these when          the King took him away.
         Because Quinn's Da could not          fulfill the Pact, it has fallen to Quinn.


         Meira (The          Day of Graduation)

         Halrond's gre-Mem cast a curse          on Nyhadora because she was a Sun Elf
         The spell had two trigger          points.
         The first trigger point was          after the birth of Meira.
         Nyhadora was turned into a          pixie who was fixated on herself to the point that she needed to          constantly look at herself in the mirror and became violent when she          wasn't.
         Halrond had to send his wife to          one of their private houses because she became too violent around          everyone.
         The second trigger occurred          when Meira celebrated her two hundredth birth celebration.
         She changed physically.
         Her eyes developed a yellow          tint, allowing her to perceive pitch-black heat signatures.
         Her hearing became so acute she          could hear a heartbeat behind a wall 25 ft away around a corner.
         Her sense of touch was so          sensitive that she could feel the difference in the stones on the          floor after someone had passed over them within 60 minutes.                    
         Changes in Meira's Nature
         She did not purposely want to          be around people.
         She yearned to learn as much as          possible about specific subjects.
         Sudden liking of ballads, folk          songs, storytelling, Bards and then would kill them.
         Meira contacted her D to get          him into his (secret) club's library.
         She wanted all the worlds she          favored.
         I would keep the Magick books.
         Cast the Command spell on her          Da.
         Used Black Magic to make her Da          a Mind Slave
         She would make suggestions, and          her Da would think they were his ideas.
