A chapter in my fanfiction
Chapter 6
The ruins weren’t far from the village. It was just a short walk to the coast from there.
The village was bustling and large, filled with people and pets. It made Paula jittery. But the place was silent. Paula felt calm and peaceful.
But she wasn’t here for the atmosphere. She was here for the stones.
They appeared just now, looking old and mossy. They were engraved with something new entirely, an unknown language.
She felt the urge to read it.
The letters were strange, and Paula had no way of deciphering it, but she knew that something was different.
Circulus infinitum
Suddenly, she thought about a circle.
A never ending circle with no beginning or conclusion. It simply was.
And with that, Paula opened her eyes.
The sky was beautiful outside. She was seeing things he never saw before. The blue ceiling was filled with shapes.
They were moving toward her. The angles were contorting into something different entirely. Lines became more complex symbols and polygons.

She felt herself fade.

Wake up!
She woke up to Vanessa signing to her. Where were you? We’ve been waiting for you for a long time.
The light was glowing brightly.
Then it became normal. The walls were white as snow.
Paula was in a worse condition to move. She looked around and saw her body was covered in bandages. Vanessa and Tau were sitting next to her.
“What’s happening here?”
Tau said “ You fell and broke your leg down in the Ruins. What were you doing so far from De’Noran?”
“Nothing, just some business with friends”
Tau took that answer and left. Vanessa, however, wasn’t that easy.
What business with friends? You know I’m your only friend you ever had, right?
What Vanessa said was hard, but it was true. Paula had no friends since she was born. Vanessa was her only companion ever since first grade.
Paula said “She’s a new kid that I met at the Ruins. Her name’s” she searched her brain for a suitable name and she found one straight off the bat “Rygoth.”
Okay then. If you say so. Vanessa said and left.

Paula shook her head. There was something happening to her, and based on what she saw, it wasn’t going to be good.
