“Dad, you should have been a meteorologist “ Words of wisdom from my children I seem to enjoy activities others do not. I have had an interest in weather since high school. Why I didn’t become a meteorologist,l don’t know

It’s an interest I have turned into a hobby. I am a member of Skywarn and I enjoy being a local weather watcher. This lead me into an in Amateur Radio and it’s in involvement with weather and public service events.

Here’s my point. I know there are other people involved, but in my daily trek through life, I don’t see them. I know there are clubs, Facebook and Twitter feeds and I do see a lot of posts. They have amateur radio conventions and when I go there are a lot of people. Where are they the rest of the time?

Will be asked “So what did you do this weekend?” “Worked a Road Race” or Attended a weather conference “ “OH” Family says glad you had a good time.

I know there is an interest in these subjects, but from a general public view, there is none.
