Former president Trump continues to scream
The deep State is out to get me, it’s true we are.

The last form in this edition of Poetry Week will be "Puntdicht/Epigram"

The topic is yours to choose, but make it sarcastic in a friendly way.

How to write: Puntdicht/Epigram.

Puntdicht is a Dutch form, used by poets since ages. The most known poet who used this form is Joost van den Vondel.

The English equivalent of this form is an epigram.


In less or exactly 22 syllables they made a statement, as well as a witty reaction on that statement. It is a sharp verse, sometimes a bit sarcastic.

The most famous example in our country is:

Al draagt een aap een gouden ring
het is en blijft een lelijk ding.

My Examples:

Charles and Camilla, hear wedding bells ring,
now they'll wait together, some day he'll be king.

George Bush is in Belgium, "Europe" screams hurray,
who really cares, what he has to say?
