When love doesn't die.
I Lied

I hated you with all that I am,
convinced you were my evil villain.
Every fairy tale has a hero and a bad guy,
though I was blinded from the start.

Our love was strong and true,
the flame that warmed my soul.
I had told myself it would never end,
Certain that I had found my one true heart.

‘Twas never meant to be forever,
causing pain more than I could bear.
When you walked away from our bond,
I convinced my spirit I hated you.

Decades later, my soul still aches,
a heart longing for the bond we shared.
I can no longer hide the truth of my spirit –
said I hated you forever, but…

I lied.
