Poem about an annual romantic rendezvous and the leaving afterwards
"Stay and Have Some Coffee"

Night, it seems, will break to dawn soon. Too soon, I say.
Your breathing is a soft breeze on my shoulder.
Soothing evening sounds outside our cabin
fade as bird-songs introduce another day.
I tip-toe to the window to offer a morning thanksgiving.
And I pray. Please stay.

         Aroma of fresh brewed coffee;
         you stir awake.
         I whisper,
a coffee before you go? Don't go,
have another cup, I say. Please stay.

We speak briefly of yesterday's sweet memories made.
I am glad and saddened, as I wipe away a tear.
Our annual rendezvous; a camp and wooded creatures,
fire-side crackling and chatter, stories and inspirations
shared make a magical night.

Another wait for another year.
Each time when that parting morning comes; a warm embrace,
a tender kiss, and promises to write.

Have another cup of coffee, I say. Please stay.
When we do part, you and I will drive out of sight.
