Readjusted

Liz’s hand accidentally brushed Mike’s as he passed her the menu. She felt a spark of warmth where their fingers had touched. She tried not to catch his eyes and concentrated on the menu.
She was on a date with her boyfriend Tom, and her best friend Melissa, Mike’s girlfriend.

Melissa and Tom were deep in conversation. He never looks at me like that, Liz watched her boyfriend and best friend together.

Then Mike smiled at her and Liz’s heart melted.

By the end of the evening the best friends left the restaurant hand in hand with their new boyfriends.
