Review of THE SHADOW CHASER

THE SHADOW CHASER is a very delightfully thought-provoking Speculative Fiction short story, first of a series, by talented author Donald Oakes. Literate and lyrical, it relates the awe-inspiring adventures of Ivan, a young Ph.D. candidate whose studies in Particle Acceleration temporarily detached his Shadow and cast him into a sort of time travel among realities. Once he was returned to his own reality, he has had no recourse but to remain alert to others "without shadows," whom an invisible messenger commands him, through odd signs, to help. I can readily visualize this as a TV series, and it's compelling to read.
