Recipe

Ingredients (Many of which are available at an Asian Market):
1 packet Mushrooms
1 Stalk Lemongrass
5 Lime Leaves
5 Shallots
1 Large Onion
4 Thai Chili peppers
1 Can Chicken Broth (14.5 oz)
4 Cups of Water
5 Cherry Tomatoes
1 Tablespoon Tom Yum Paste
2 Chicken Breasts
3 Tablespoons Fish Sauce

Preparation
Cut the Lemongrass stalks
Slice the mushroom.
Slice the Cherry Tomatoes in half
Tear the lime leaves in half
Slice the chicken
Slice the Chili peppers in half
Cut Onions and Shallots into Chunks

Cooking instructions

Start Boiling the Chicken broth along with 4 cups of water to a pot
Add the Lemongrass, Lime leaves, Chili peppers Onions and Shallots.
Add the tablespoon of Tom Yum paste
When the soup begins to boil add 2 tablespoons of Fish sauce
Wait 5 minutes and add the mushrooms to the dish.
Squeeze half of the lime into the pot
Wait for 2 minutes and add in the Chicken.
Add another tablespoon of Fish sauce
When the chicken is cooked (about 5 minutes)
Taste the soup and add more fish sauce and squeeze more lime as needed to complete the dish. *Eat*

This item was created for the "Word Chef Master Contest-Season 2Open in new Window. and was the first place winner for 2022. The contest involved creating a Christmas Themed Food Epulaeryu and filling in the ingredients using the appropriate food emoticons.

The Epulaeryu is a form invented by Joseph Spence, Sr. to express one's feelings about some culinary delight. Seven lines with a structure of 7, 5, 7, 5, 5, 3, 1 syllables. Each line contains a separate feature of the particular dish, and the last single-syllable word is followed by an exclamation point to highlight the intensity of emotion attached to this item,
