The power of writing had a tight grip of me here. Didn't know where this one would lead.
Soul searching yet again
I sit and I wonder what to do with this pen.

Many a night caught in the dark and the shadows
Voices come at me like darts and arrows.

I decided to write this piece for myself
I know it will end up again on a dusty shelf.

Expressing one's soul is a pleasure and joy
A blank piece of paper is my spirits ploy.

I've walked the valleys and climbed the hills
I've written bout' love and how it feels.

I reach and I reach but only so far
I wish I could sit upon that star.

So are you like me, soul dented but free?
Pick up your pen and write with me.
