Free Verse - about deafness within a hectic world, and how others' ignorance is revealed.
WhyDoTheHeathenRage

i feel your voice
in the pit of my person,
in my soundless world.
you are wired differently
than all the rest, uncommon
in ways that are difficult
to picture if indeed i
were describing you to
another. but i refrain
from doing so, for as
a stream flows into
a river which flows into
a hidden bay, i allow
your poetry in, past those
walls, into the rooms
of my mind. my Muse lives
there, sometimes playful,
sometimes moody and almost
always attentive. if any
person asks you how a
deaf person like me can
possibly hear your voice,
they believe it's
called "self-explanatory".
a-one-size-fits-all
write-off, a method to
cache a disabled man
who can see a voice,
hear a photograph,
smell a sunset even.
and with his hands
and humble faith to
match, with an abiding
Hope, he'll bravely seek
out the Path to reach
out far - and touch the
face of his Lord Jesus.
