The loss of my soulmate.
In the quiet of the night
My heart beats in time
With the ticking of the clock
And sleep eludes my aching mind.

I pray for sleep.

Sleep to release my broken heart
Sleep to stem the tide
The ebb and flow of tears
From the bottomless well
The despair, that is my soul.

In the midst of my turmoil
One word appears in my mind

Why.

Why did you go and leave me
There was too much left to say
One day you just closed your eyes
Then the next, you went away.

There was not enough time

Time to say I Love You
I'll be with you once again
You were more than just my Husband,
Lover, Confidente and Friend.

You were my Moon, my Stars at night
You were my rising Sun
You were the air that filled my lungs
And now my love, you're gone.

I sit alone and wonder
What life holds for me now.
Will this heartache ever end,
What will ease this pain, this sorrow.

Grief has torn my heart in two
My world, it has stopped turning.
I feel no warmth, no happiness
Just emptiness and yearning.

People say that time will heal
The heartbreak, it will end.
Till then I'll go on mourning you,
My Husband, Lover, Friend.
