Inspired by "Inglourious Basterds" by Quentin Tarantino.
[Introduction]
One of my favorite movie directors is Quentin Tarantino. I was watching one of his films, Inglorious Basterds, and was inspired to do my own version with my own usual style. Okay, backstory...

Set in an alternate reality where humans and mythical beasts inhabit the earth, the various races used to more or less coexist in peace. But over the course of a decade or so, a monster supremacist group began to gain more and more power in government, slowly implementing increasingly anti human policies until it reached the point where humans in America were no longer considered citizens, and we're systematically being purged from the country.

Of course, not all humans were willing to sit back and let their species face extermination. An underground resistance formed, and in that resistance is a group of humans that have been assigned an important mission, to give the monsters a taste of their own medicine.

Get ready, folks, this one is gonna be bloody!
Resistance Headquarters

Standing in front of a line of ten volunteers, Lt. Briggs examines his squad. The group was comprised of seven men and three women, all of them sharing a single thing in common, that being they were sick of being treated like cattle because of their species. Which was why they had signed on for this special team. "Ten hut!" Lt. Briggs said, as each squad member stood at attention.

"My name is Lieutenant Mason Briggs. I don't know the rest of you, but I sure as hell am not willing to sit back and watch as humanity is persecuted and exterminated, all because some asshole monsters with a superiority complex managed to trick some other idiots into voting for them!" The troops said nothing, but in their minds, they were all shouting in agreement. "Now, High Command has commissioned me to form this special squad. We're gonna be doing one thing and one thing only...killing monsters. I already know several of you are ex military, so here's the plan. We'll be sowing chaos and fear in the monster ranks, by showing them how monstrous humans can really be. The have oppressed and murdered countless numbers of us through cruelty, torture and murder. Well, that's exactly what we're gonna do to them."

At these words, a few of the squad couldn't help but smirk, imagining themselves exacting sweet revenge on the monstrosities for their crimes. "There is, however, one thing you all should know." Continued Briggs "Each and every soldier under my command owes me a debt of one hundred monster scalps, taken from the heads of one hundred dead monsters. If you accept this debt, step forward."

Each volunteer took one step forward, and Briggs smiled. "Welcome to the crew, ladies and gentlemen."
"That being said, do be careful," said Briggs. "We do have allies among the monsters, and it wouldn't look very good for us if we killed them. Likewise, civilians are off-limits - beat them if you need to protect yourself, but don't kill them - their scalps will not count, and if you go out of your way to kill civilian monsters, expect to end up on a dinner plate served to one of our monster allies as punishment."
Name: Misako Chiyoku
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown

Misako would be looking at Briggs as she headtilts, "Pardon sire, but what are our new orders for this squadron?"
"Our orders are simple." Replied Briggs "Any monster we find that works for the new government is to be terminated. As I said, no civilians or allies, but all others are fair game. Sound good?" "YES SIR!" Shouted the recruits.

6 months later

President Victor Grimm's Office

"NO NO NO NO NO NO!" Shouted Grimm, repeatedly slamming his fist on his desk for emphasis with each "NO!" Grimm was a vampire, and head of the new monster regime in America. He was also formerly a human, but that was a closely guarded secret. "How much more of these human scum must I endure!?" He ranted to two of his top officers, who were standing opposite him across his desk "They slaughter and butcher my best men like pigs!" One officer, a dragon man, interjected with "Sir, we are doing our best to locate the fugitives, but they constantly elude capture, and barely anyone who has encountered them has lived to tell about it!"

"Enough!" Grimm cut him off "I don't want excuses, I want results! If you can't find them and bring them to me, I'll just have to...wait, what do you mean by "barely" anyone?" The other officer, a werewolf, replied "We recently decided word from J Squad that they found all of B Company massacred, except for one survivor. Private Phelps." "And you didn't think this important enough to tell me!?" Grimm raged "I want to speak to this Private Phelps immediately! You two, get out of my sight, now!"

Later, Private Phelps, a young kitsune with two tails sat in front of Grimm. "My officers tell me you encountered the fugitives and lived." Phelps nodded. "Care to tell me what happened?" Phelps hesitated, before replying "We were ambushed. Only me, another private named Cole, and Sgt. Gelder survived. Two of them guarded us, while this rest began to scalp the corpses of our squad mates..."

Flashback...

"Well," the one human said, coming up on the group. "Looks like we have prisoners. Prisoners have to be fed you know." He got out some kind of vegetable bulb. "Onion?"

The smell had entered Phelps' nose. It wasn't an onion. He tried to warn Cole not to open his mouth, but the one guard pressed the barrel of his weapon against his spine.

"Don't say a word, or you'll find yourself unable to walk," the guard said.

That was when the human shoved the large bulb into Cole's mouth, and then another wrapped tape around his face, preventing Cole from spitting it out.

Phelps watched in horror as his squadmate's face burned to ashes. Then, the vampire fell, his head gone.

"Must of been a little too strong for him," the human said.

The human then grabbed an object that was from the Medieval Ages, a Catch-pole, also known as a Man-Catcher. It was a polearm that had an circular opening, and the insides were covered in spikes.

"This thing is a great way to control armored prisoners one wants to ransom," the human said. "Thing is, you're not wearing armor."

Phelps watched as it was used on Sgt. Gelder. The spikes pierced the werewolf's skin, and he howled in pain. Then, two more were placed around the Sergeant's neck, by other humans.

"Let's take this dog for a walk," the human in charge said.

Phelps watched as his Sergeant was dragged around the area, unable to do a thing, because whenever he grabbed the one pole, the others would twist, and turn. Also, there was spikes along a good portion of the pole near the head, and even those caused him to yelp in pain. After a while, his head was ripped off, due to the various tears around his neck.

"Poor puppy," the lead human said. "He made a mess of himself."

Then, the human pulled out a knife, and walked up to Phelps. "So, what are we going to do to you?"

Present.....

Grimm looked at the kitsune. "What did they do to you?"

Phelps carefully reached behind himself, and Grimm watched as his tails came off.

"They cut your tails off?" Grimm asked.

Phelps gulped, and nodded. "And not just those."

Flashback....

"Ever have Rocky Mountain Oysters?" the head human asked.

"Can't say that I have," said Phelps.

"They make them out of bull testicles," the human said. "Too bad we're short on bulls. Still, they say a fox's testicle is supposed to bring good luck."

Present.....

Grimm's eyes widened. "They cut off your testicles?!"

Phelps shuddered. "Worse."

Flashback.....

"Well, this smells good," the head human said. "Especially with garlic. Let's see if you can handle it better than your buddy."

Phelps' mouth was forced open, and he was then force-fed the cooked meat, after which, his muzzle was taped shut.

Present.....

"I see," said Grimm. "Understandably, you'll be given papers for an Honorable Medical Discharge, and are entitled to receive benefits for your service."

There's more," said Phelps. "They told me that if I ever saw you, I was to give you a message."

"What's the message?" Grimm asked.

"I respectfully refuse to say it," say Phelps.

"Something along the lines of me not being a real vampire or something?" Grimm asked, almost bored-like.

"Like I said," said Phelps. "I respectfully refuse to repeat it."

"I see," said Grimm. "You refuse to say lies about me in my presence."

Phelps nodded.

"Very well," said Grimm. "As I said, you'll receive benefits." Grimm looked at the dragon officer. "See to it he gets a new set of testicles, big ones, and a better tail prosthetic."

The dragon nodded. "Yes sir."

Meanwhile.....

"Well, we've had some fun, especially with all we did to those three," said Briggs. "But we've got a job to do." He got out some photos. Featured was a minotaur, in a prison uniform. "Meet our newest prospect. Tauran Toros. Killed a dozen enemy officers, and thirty personnel, before someone finally hit him hard enough to knock him out. Due to be executed in a week. We help him out, he might join us."

"Why did he go on a killing spree in the first place?" one of the others asked.

"Apparently he had a human wife," said Briggs. "Emphasis on had."
Tauran Toros sat in the pitch black of a solitary confinement cell. He had been put there after a guard insulted his deceased wife, and ended up impaled on one of the bull man's horns. Suddenly, the deathly silence was broken by the faint sound of distant gunshots. Sounds that were steadily getting closer. Finally, the sounds stopped directly outside his cell.

The door swung open, and standing there surrounded by dead guards, was a group of armed humans. "Hello, Tauran." Said the head of the group. "My name is Lieutenant Briggs. I know why you're in here, and my condolences about your wife. As to who we are, let's just say we have a common cause, you and us. When it comes to killing monsters, we're the best there is. As it happens, we have an open spot for a new team member. Interested?"

The minotaur said nothing. Instead he just extended his hand, and shook with Briggs. "Welcome to the team." Said Briggs.

A few hours later, in Grimm's office...

Grimm had just received news that Toros had been busted out. He immediately knew who was responsible. "This is worse than I thought." Grimm thought to himself. "Not even my top officers have been able to stop these humans. This calls for drastic measures." Grimm buzzed his secretary on the intercom. "Send in Captain Skarn, immediately." Skarn was leader of the Blood Pack, an elite squad of the most vicious and bloodthirsty werewolves in the monster army, Grimm's top enforcers with Skarn as his right hand lady.

Captain Skarn entered the office in her human form, long silver hair and blood red eyes, dressed in a uniform like a Gestapo officer's. "I trust you have heard the rumours?" Grimm asked, and Skarn nodded. "Well, they're true I'm afraid. I want you to track down these rebels, and bring them to me alive, not necessarily in one piece. Understand?" Skarn nodded, an evil grin spreading across her face. "It will be done, sir."

Tauran Toros looked around, as the group ended up walking through several back alleys. "Unless I'm mistaken, the front of this place is a Butcher Shop."

"It is," said Briggs. "Deer, cattle, pig, sheep, goat, big fish, certain big game, and that sort of stuff, mostly. Useful for average folk to get meat from."

"What about human meat?" Tauran asked.

"You'd have to really mess up to end up on the menu," said Briggs. "Kill the wrong folk, and you will."

Briggs then knocked on the door.

The door opened, and a female werewolf stuck their head out. She looked at the group, looked at Tauran, and then at Briggs. "This the new guy?"

"He is, Debra," said Briggs.

"Best be careful with him then," Debra said, as she let the group in. Looking out the door carefully, she closed it. She looked at Briggs. "By the way, freeing him might have been a bit of a mistake."

"Why do you say that?" Briggs asked.

"Check the news," said Debra. "$50,000 reward for information leading to this one's arrest, and a whole lot more for the rest of you."

"How much are we talking?" Briggs asked.

"A million, dead," said Debra. "Five million if caught alive."

"I hope you're not tempted," said Briggs.

Debra grinned. "I'll wait until you're personally worth ten million before I'll really think about it." She then grabbed a hold of Briggs and kissed him. "I'm going to have to come along one of these days. I missed you."

"Missed you to," said Briggs. "We'll catch up later."

"Check the pantry before you go into the cellar," said Debra, quietly. "Picked up some fresh stock. Let me know if it's worth keeping, or if we should pass them on to friends of ours."
Misako stood, awaiting her orders from Briggs as she wonders what there is to do next. It seems that there were a lot of monster attacks lately on the human communities and she had volunteered to help after all... But what did it entail, exactly?
