Short poem about Covid-19
A horrible year

Old year out, new year in,
Let better days please begin,
This has been a horrible year,
Filled with sickness and with fear.

Covid came and laid us low
Kept us captive, nowhere to go,
But we are determined, we won’t give in,
We’ll beat this virus, we’ll fight and win.

Bless you scientists, you’ve developed a vaccine,
To fight the dreaded Covid Nineteen,
Hopefully it will give us all immunity,
Brilliant news for our world and our community.

So come quickly, new year,
Bring us some good cheer,
Set us free from our horror,
Let it be soon, let it be tomorro’.
