Cavy

Aspirant addition to our family,
a baby cavy of soft fur
and happy outlook, typical
of such animal infants
I summon up from my youth,
a piggy colony of amusing souls,
totalling thirty-six at max,
all falling in a night attack
by dogs assaulting my custodial coop.
Now our silky arrival and pal,
an adult fully grown, attain
participation in an indoor clan.
