A response to a Writer's Cramp prompt. My mind went to proof of klutziness.
At just one glance, I knew.
I saw the black, the blue,
         the tell-tale mark chartreuse
bright on white skin, a bruise.

At just one glance, I knew.
         How did I misconstrue?
         Why did my feet eschew
         a step, a follow through?

At just one glance, I knew.
         I tripped. Hullabaloo,
         downfall, mayhem ensue.
         Moans and curses I spew.

At just one glance, I knew.
They bloomed, the black, the blue,
         bruises with purplish hue.
         Proof of balance askew.
