Reading about Hitler and the Holocaust, inspired me to write this anti-communism poem |
Democracy The beautiful way of life Hypocrisy Just another way for your back to get a knife There’s no turning back We see you over there You run without a care in your mind Just can’t be behind the rest of the pack You make empty promises you don’t intend to keep Some people say “you are what you reap” I’ll tell you again, nobody says “you are what you eat” You want to beat the opposition You don’t care if their life is taken You know some radicals are going to finish the deed if they make it to the end Once they read what you’ve done in Heaven or Hell, in the Jesus or Satin Times, They’ll force a smile on their face and remember the good old times When all is gone, people will read about how times were tough How you had no one love, except the one up above Who are you kidding no one is going to fall for that shit I could give the story of your life in only a trailer bit Of the movie they never made and never thought about making Who were they kidding? Where are your loyal soldiers of yours when they needed you most? How can anybody host a part for one? A party for two sound dumb enough You hold up your thumb up like nothing’s wrong, nothings gone from your life. That’s right, you don’t care. All you can think about is strife And your enemies, dying to a knife We know you threw yourself a pity party; you host one every night You can barely take a bite of the meals you make for the party of one You dream about having a son one brisk autumn day But you can't see yourself as a father, not even to a daughter, when you can’t finish a meal for a party of one You can’t look in the mirror without being reminded of the things you’ve done Every disease you’ve overcome, and you think it was all you, dancing to the beat of your own drum Soon your thumb will grow weak and there will be nothing to hide how you really feel inside You’ll learn to confide Conquer your fears The horrors you get from being you Every day since you were twenty-two When you thought you had figured it out, when you stopped sitting on your couch for a while You looked in the mirror at your smile Who could this be? Another man lost at sea? You can’t take it anymore, your ship is lost at shore You were cowardly born and you’ll cowardly die There is no more “just confide” Death is how the cookie crumbles at a party for one. |
