1 Ethics most important in journalism
I feel ethics is most important that must be taken seriously in journalism profession, or in any career that matter especially in today's society. With today's technology it seems as though anything goes, which makes it much easier to create myth or gossip. Ethics is something that we should stay true to so we don't run into any conflict. Journalist have power to influence what society believes and should, as result provide objective information allowing society to interpret what being said and done using by their own discretion. As a journalist you have the responsibility towards society to provide truthful, balanced, factual, and objective information we should always keep in mind ethical values help guide us in every step in our career. I think of it as a foundation of our career, as a journalist we working with all kinds of people of different background and cultures. If we stay true to our ethical values, we may still face some obstacles throughout our career, However, I think it will run more seamlessly and with ease. Everyday there are ethical decision that impact the hundreds or thousands of people who watch, read, listen and / or click on a media source. The foundations of making the right decision starts with ethics.
