Author’s Note: This was written for the January 2020 round of "Rhythm & Rhyme: Poetry/Lyrics Challenge" Day 1 Prompt: Create a steady melody to be used consistently throughout your song lyrics **I had written this song long ago, actually, by I haven't posted it. I figured it fit the prompt, so I submitted it. It is supposed to be about a person who feels very guilty that he/she couldn't keep up with the expectations of a dear one, and is sincerely apologizing, eve pen though he firmly believes that he shouldn't be forgiven.** Melody: Na na na na NA na Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na naaa... Chorus Could you keep me me by the fire Like a holy ritual This burning desire I got To turn to ashes by the fire My burning heart an soul Are dry to the very core. Verse 1 I didn't do anything for you At the end of the day It's so sad, so sad I didn't do anything for you I swear I'm sorry I really meant to! Chorus2 So could you keep me by the fire Guilt all over my favorite shirt Took you for granted like I always do If you throw me in your hearth The atleast the my shriveled soul Will warm you until noon. Verse 2 Watch me burn in side your hearth If it pleasures you, I'm willing to die for you This ain't me asking for another chance I don't want to hurt you ever again. Chorus3 I'd rather burn up in the fire. Got nothing to offer I simply can't repay for your love I know I'm saying sorry But don't you forgive me I don't deserve another shot. Could you keep me me by the fire Like a holy ritual This burning desire I got To turn to ashes by the fire My burning heart an soul Are dry to the very core. |
