Writers love quaint, little coffee shops.
They love whiling away the hours
With a constant supply of tea and coffee.
Plus there is usually a good quantity of cake.
Cake being the most important influence on writing.
Plus whether it be Nero or family-run
there is bound to be characters.
The mysterious man who reads the paper.
A coffee connoisseur.
A real Casanova.
Or the fem Fatale in the corner.
Sparkling red hair.
Framing a face which is nauseating in its beauty.
Then maybe there is even a discreet fellow writer.
Who although upon confrontation will deny it
Is always comparing your style to theirs.
That sneaky look over your shoulder.
They're slightly closer to your table than they really should be after you've had a few drinks.
So I say thank you to coffee shops.
You provide glittering caves for us writing hermits.
