A Football enthusiastic rushing home to watch finals of world cup Football

The Football Match

It was 15 July 2018, Sunday & I was rushing home to watch the late-evening France & Croatia Football match final.
She was near the front door.
"What is the hurry, darling?" she wanted to know.
"The Football match at 8.30" I told her & ran in to the washroom.
"You know that I like to watch Football since I was a kid?" I asked her.
"Oh, but isn't it boring to watch 44 feet chasing a ball around a field?" she asked me handing me my towel.
"I just can't imagine that a would-be poet & a flash fiction writer like you eager to watch a ball game?" She looked at me curiously.
"Wasting almost 2 hours on it?" she asked me again with a scorn on her face.
"That's the very point, darling" I told my wife.
"You are correct if you think I take so much pleasure arranging words on my computer to write a beautiful poem or a flash fiction". I told her stepping in to the washroom.
"So?" Jenny looked at me inquiringly.
"So, that's what exactly those 22 players on the field doing, arranging the ball this way & that way to score the perfect goal in their life".
Maybe she had noticed my raised voice, I wondered.
And she headed straight in-to the kitchen silently.
How can I explain to her that the beat, the rhythm & the excitement that go into making of a perfect goal is very much identical to writing a 100-word poem or a beautiful flash fiction?
I closed the door of the washroom with a bang!
