A poem inspired for the media challenge of Aug 2019.
Isolation from the mind,
Everything out of sight.
Numb reigns over sanity.
For who wants to feel the pain?

Nothing can be gained
From salt on a wound.
Crying is for the weak,
Fake smiles for the strong.

Laughter from the mind,
But not from the heart.
Knowing what's real anymore
Is to much a chore.

Romeo died for his Juliet,
And then she died for him.
So when one trend dies,
So does your very self.

There used to be more to life
Than donning masks to be accepted.
But one cannot escape
From all these icy eyes.

One could die today,
Or live tomorrow.
But all that matters is the now,
Not what should have been.

Don't lose yourself to the Nothing.
Remember when you had the truth.
The lies abound all around.
The choice is always there to see.
