When I die
I've been seeking You my entire life,
Knowing I can't have you here.
Every sunrise shines on my tears;
A warm light You cast on my cold bones.

This temporary thaw gives way, however,
When day rocks back to night.
And I'm alone again, dead on this earth,
Where we planted dreams just to watch them die.

Your ghost dances over me and shines;
A beauty I cannot touch, yet feel.
And only when I die, can I....
Only then will You hold me in a way that's real.
