It was a crystal clear early Fall day.
As soon as he got up, Sam felt that it was going to be a special day. No idea why, or special how. Just special. In a familiar way.

A quick breakfast, and a cab ride down town. Such a beautiful day, crystal blue skies, he wished he had the time to walk. The kind of day he wouldn't mind repeating. Would "special" always be this good?

"Good morning Charlotte," Sam greeted his Administrative Assistant as he entered the office.

No response from Charlotte. That's strange Sam thought. Why is she so distracted?

Sam avoided getting distracted himself by not taking in the spectacular view from his office. He settled down to check on how his client's portfolios were doing. He enjoyed the excitement of trading the market, but never lost sight of his responsibility to his clients.

The portfolios were doing well. It seemed that the market was as sparkling as this special early Fall day. Maybe it was time to move more out of cash and into equities.

Sam was setting up a series of trades, when Charlotte rushed into his office. No longer distracted, she rushed over to the window.

"What are you looking for?" Sam asked.

Again, no response from Charlotte, other than to raise her arm to point at the North Tower.

Sam could see smoke and flames escaping from a high floor. "What the hell is that?" was all he could say.

"All residents of the Towers should immediately execute standard evacuation plans," came over the building's public address system. Repeated twice before Charlotte screamed.

A large bright shiny plane was coming right at them.

As soon as he got up, Sam felt that it was going to be a special day. No idea why, or special how. Just special. In a familiar way.
