Erika meets Chris once again, and also meets more possible friends. |
“So you’re the new girl huh?” I looked down, determined not to meet his eyes. I heard a chuckle above me. “You probably already know who I am though right? Rumors tend to spread fast around here.” I slowly nodded my head. “So Erika Lyon. . .What do you think of the Academy so far?” He looked at me with his eyes glinting. I felt my pulse quicken. He then smiled ruefully. “You do know it’s rude to ignore someone when they’re talking to you right?” He asked as he ran his fingers through my hair, and then kissed them. I could fell my face turning a light pink. He noticed this and smirked at me. “You’re pretty cute when you blush,” he breathed next to my ear. I jumped slightly. I turned my head away from him so that he would know I was not afraid of him. Silence was best with his kind. ". . . I never knew you were such a chatterbox Erika “W-Why on Earth are you doing this?” He laughed. “Because I want to,” he whispered. He then knelt before me, took my hand, and then he. . .he. . . k-k-kissed it!! “Let’s get to know each other more. . . much more. . .” At that he got up, flashed a smile at me, and walked away towards his group. I could hear in the distance someone asking 'What did you do to that poor girl, Chris?’ I sat down on the floor still feeling the effects of the meeting, my heart still beating fast. This is the first time anyone's bothered to get so close to me, besides Jason of course. That closeness. . . was something that would never, ever happen again; if I could help it. To clear my head I quickly walked to my next class, English. Once I had walked a long distance through the seemingly never ending hallways, I finally saw a door that was labeled “English”. I opened the door and was greeted by curious faces staring at me. “So that’s the new girl?“ “Wow she’s really pretty!“ I blushed. “I heard Chris was already flirting with her. “ I blushed even more. It appears that rumors did spread like wildfire here. “She looks so cool.“ “I think I saw her this morning too.” “Oh yeah! With that hot guy?” “I wonder if that was her brother, I’d sure like to meet him!” I’ve only heard stories about this kind of thing; my cousin had told me about this before, he explained to me that there were going to be people who would try to use me, and that it was best to ignore them. I also had to try to at least make friends and not get into any fights, but if anyone attacks me, I'm free to defend myself. I wasn’t really of the fighting sort, like, my cousin taught me all sorts of martial arts for self-defense, but it was sort of on impulse if I used them at all. I took a seat in the front and waited quietly for the teacher to come in. Again, there was whispering but not as much as before. I crossed my legs and looked into the bag that my cousin bought for me, a black Kate Spade Elizabeth shoulder bag. I had my notebook, phone, hand mirror, chapstick, and a photo of my cousin and me. “Um. . Excuse me but are you Miss Erika Lyons?” I looked up. There was a boy with short, brown hair and chocolate brown eyes, which were hidden behind thick rimmed glasses, staring nervously at me. I raised an eyebrow and he immediately blushed. “I-I-I’m s-sorry to b-b-bother you b-but I’m the v-vice-student c-council p-president and I’m supposed to r-register you into the s-student s-system." I tilted my head in surprise. “But isn’t the student council president supposed to help me?” The boy laughed nervously. “Y-Yeah, but the p-president has some other b-business to a-attend to, so I’m a-assisting you i-instead. I-I hope it i- isn’t a p-problem.” I sighed. “No, it’s not a problem, but I’m already registered,” I replied. He looked confused for a second and then turned as red as a tomato. “S-Sorry! I’m just so n-nervous about a new s- student since it’s been a-awhile since we've had o-one. . .” I raised my eyebrows curiously. His hand flew to his mouth in surprise and shock. “I-I’ll stop r-rambling right now. I’m sorry for all this, I’m such an annoying person aren’t I? I must be annoying you so-” I held up a hand to stop him. “You don’t have to be so nervous you know. It’s not like I’m going to eat you.” He smiled nervously. “And please stop stuttering, I can’t understand a word you’re saying,” I explained with a patiently. He fidgeted and cleared his throat. “Y-Yeah, thanks. I needed that. Now back to what I was saying. You already have your classes picked out then?” I nodded. He smiled softly. “Great! Then let’s discuss which clubs you want to join.” I nodded then realized something. "Wait a second, I don’t think I got your name, Mr. . .?” “Just Stefan's fine. Stefan Reyes” Stefan replied with a pleasant grin. “ So… what are the clubs available?” “Well.” Stefan said in a quiet voice as he began to look over a list in his hand. “There’s the Basketball Club, Baseball Club, Softball Club, Art Club, Drama Club, Film Club, Photography Club, Tennis Club, Swim Club, Volleyball Club, Gymnastics Club, Dance Club, Music Club; there’s singing and instruments in that one, Cooking Club, Horse-riding Club, Clothing Design Club, Model Club, Martial Arts Club, Track and Field Club, Fencing Club. . .” The list was very long. “I had no idea there were so many clubs.” “Well, our parents do pay for broad options.” Stefan smiled. I thought about it for moment. “How many clubs can I apply for?” Stefan seemed to be deep in thought. “W-Well, I don’t know, I guess you can apply for 3 clubs, but I’m not really sure, you’d have to ask the president. That is, if you even see him, he’s usually really busy during this type of month.” I tilted my head thoughtfully. “Who is this president?” Stefan’s eyes lit up excitedly like a Christmas tree. “Oh, the president is awesome! He’s really cool, sometimes kind, serious, and he really wants to make the school a better place even if he doesn’t really show it. He’s like a superhero!” A small smile found its way onto my features as Stefan continued sharing his opinion so openly and excitedly. I liked it. He blushed fiercely. “W-Well, the president is my childhood friend after all and he’s always helped me. . . do you think it’s strange?” “What’s strange?” I asked. He sighed. “The fact that I still think of him as a friend even though there’s no way that I can possibly compete with him or catch up, and that I should give up since he’s probably going to leave me behind, along with the other guys too. “Other guys?” He looked at me surprised. “Oh, I didn’t tell you?” I was worried now. “Tell me what?” He frowned. “Michael Weston’s the student council president and his mother is also the principal of the academy,” I felt my face pale. ‘He sounds like a kinda important person. . . oh well, as long as he’s not related to that pers-’ “Oi, Stef !” Stefan and I both turned to the noise to see a boy that was a little bit taller than Stefan with spiky, scarlet red hair and ivy green eyes grinning at Stefan like they were old friends. Stefan seemed to know him. “Oh, Justin, what’s up?” Justin grinned. “Stefan, you were supposed to meet us outside on the rooftop remember?” Stefan looked confused. “But isn’t third period after this?” Justin just laughed. “No silly! Do you see any teachers in here?” Both me and Stefan looked around the classroom and realized that only a few people were in the classroom. Justin looked amused. Wait a minute. . . if there were no classes today, what was I even doing in Free Period. Even Mrs. Weston didn't tell me anything! I sincerely hope she just forgot. . . “Today’s Friday Stefan, there are no classes on Friday, remember?” Justin informed in a fake mocking, motherly tone. Stefan blushed red in embarrassment again. Maybe blushing was his thing? Stefan turned to me. “See ya later Erika! I have to be somewhere, I hope you find your room!’ Then he ran off in a hurry with Justin on his heels. “Catch ya later new girl!” yelled Justin as he ran after Stefan. I brought out the paper with my room number on it. I walked out of the partly empty classroom class. Hmm. . . 13F. . 13F. . 13F . There it is! I stopped in front of a white white door with a golden door knob. I opened it. . . BAM! A pillow hit me in the face, leaving me dumbfounded and alarmed. I heard a gasp. “Oh my goodness, are you alright?” asked a soft voice worriedly. I nodded. I took the pillow off and saw Angelica with a girl I kinda recognized but didn’t remember where I had seen her. She had long, chestnut brown hair with chocolate brown eyes like Stefan. She had a small and petite frame, a small oval face with a small, freckled, upturned nose. “Hi Erika! Don’t tell me you’re our new roommate?” "I suppose I am." Angelica squealed and jumped on me. I screamed and we both tumbled to the ground while the other girl watched us with wide eyes and a surprised expression. “Ow, that hurt! What are you doing Angelica?” She giggled while still hugging me. “I’m just so happy that you’re gonna room with us! And here I thought I wasn’t going to see you anymore!” I looked more closely at the room. It had 3 sections. It was divided by a curtain that was already pulled to the side in front of the space between the 2 windows. The walls were a bright turquoise in the right section, a nice deep ocean blue in the middle, but a soft purple in the left one. “Oh, and this is Sophie Garcia! She’s another one of our roommates and she’s suuuper smart! Say hi Sophie!” Sophie smiled shyly. “Hi Erika, are you sure you’re okay?” Sophie asked softly. I nodded and brushed off the dust that got on me after Angelica jumped me. “I’m fine. Do you girls know when our other luggage will arrive?” Angelica nodded her head up and down so fast, it looked like she had whiplash. “Uh huh! The bags come later this evening, so we can do whatever you want until then!” I looked closely at the room. The left section had bookshelves with lots of books in them and had posters of famous violinists that I recognized. There was a twin bed with a black bedsheet with the moon, stars, and constellations and white star-shaped pillows. Next to the bed was a wooden nightstand with a picture of Sophie, and two other people who must’ve been her parents. Next to the photo was another photo, but of a girl this time. She had a mole under her right eye and another on her left cheekbone. She had warm chocolatey brown eyes. She had luscious, corkscrew hair and a playful smile on her lips. On the right side of the room where the walls were bright turquoise, were white stripes along the walls as well. There was another twin bed with a blue bedsheet with light blue bubbles and pink starfish pillows. On the walls were pictures of rainbows, stars, and goldfish. There was a poster of people who I suppose were her family at a zoo of some kind. The man in the picture had blond hair and deep sky blue eyes while the woman had curly red hair just like Angelica, and emerald green eyes. Then there was Angelica in the middle front with a taller blonde boy with blue eyes on her right and a boy that was a little bit taller than her with scarlet red hair and blazing, ivy green eyes, who also seemed to be scowling at the camera. “So Erika, you’ll sleep in the middle of us. Don’t worry though! None of us snore!” “I'll keep that in mind.” I said. These two girls were very different, but they seemed to get along just fine. Funny, the boys in those photos look strangely familiar. I know I’ve seen them before somewhere, but I can’t put my finger on it. “Hey! I just had a great idea, maybe we could go somewhere today, to commemorate this momentous occasion!” Angelica squealed with glee. “Where do you have in mind?” I asked. "Maybe we could go to the library?” Sophie suggested. “Oh, we can do better than that!” Angelica grinned. “We usually go there when we’re studying, but this is to commemorate our new roomie, and that wouldn’t be showing her a good time because she probably already got a tour of the school or something, and we’ll end up with a normal day and that’s what we want to happen the least!” Angelica took a deep breath. “I’m gonna get some candy!” Angelica scurried over to her bed and started poking around under one of her pink starfish pillows. . I turned to Sophie. She turned a slight pink. “Um, maybe we could go to the cafe next to the greenhouse?” Sophie offered. “What cafe?” I asked politely. Sophie turned to me with a gasp. "Pour L'élite et Le Meilleur is one of the most famous cafes in London! How can you have not heard of it?” I shrugged. “I don’t really spend that much time outside. Angelica sprang up from her bed abruptly. She grinned. “That’s a great idea Sophie! You’re always so smart!” Sophie smiled shyly. I could tell they were close. “Well, there’s no sense in staying here is there? Aren’t we going to this cafe you mentioned?” I asked. Angelina squealed. “Oh yeah! Let’s go Sophie, maybe you’ll even see your crush there.” Sophie paled instantly. I raised an eyebrow quizzically in her direction. “O-Oh it’s nothing to concern yourself with Erika! Gelica was just joking, right Gelica?” Sophie stared pleadingly at Angelica with puppy dog eyes. Angelica sighed dejectedly. “Fine. . . we should go to the cafe now! I really want to try one of their new chocolate strawberry parfaits, I’ve heard that they’re really awesome!" Sophie breathed a sigh of relief while I smiled a little. Angelica, Sophie, and I got what we needed and left our room. |
