-Inside- by Keaton Foster Inside, Out. Words, Wonders, Amazing, Blunders. Living To understand, Dying This death While trying. I’m not afraid Because fear Concerns me Least of all. People come, Others go, Leaving me As I am, As I was. Alone, No home, Just skin, Just bones. Writing, Expressing A dereliction Of duties, Failing While Succeeding. Expressing Myself, Thyself, Masses Of people, Legions Of no ones. Reading My undertakings, These underpinnings, Pondering meaning, Gleaming reason From such verbiage. Absurdity In a reality Expressed by me. I don’t, Heck I won’t Always make sense. But in this world, Making sense Of anything Or anyone at all Has been deemed Increasingly antiquated. Words, Wonders, Amazing, Blunders, Mistakes, Happening, Repeating Again and again. Making sense Of a nonsensical Battle space Within myself. Why fight it? I whisper Under breath, Overtly expressing A greater difference Between the war Within my head And inside My chest… Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2008-2018 Synopsis Your poem beautifully captures the internal struggle and existential pondering that many people experience.
