Love is so confusing – is it giving or just using? A Rebel Poetry Entry
A Poem I Didn’t Write

I thought of you tomorrow.
My heart filled with joyful sorrow
as I thought about the memories
that I never had.

Love is so confusing –
is it giving or just using?
The smile that dances on my lips
shows I’m deeply sad.

How can I show my love?
Perhaps a sacrificial dove
would show you that my passion
extends beyond my pain.

They tell me you're not real
but that's not the way I feel.
Why would I make up someone
who treats me with disdain?

You make me lose control
recalling darkness in my soul.
I see your face and call to you
but I don’t know your name.

Within these padded walls
your silence to me calls.
Insanity? Normality?
Which one should I blame?

They’ve come to give me Prozac;
be patient I’ll be back
and we will share, once more,
our love deep in the night.

Soon they will let me play on
a paper with a crayon
and I’ll compose for you
a poem I didn’t write.
