March of Endless Winter

We were so ready...
ready for what spring might mean
new life
even hope

Walking on the boardwalk
boardwalk breezes in our hair
fast forward
marking time

The birds ignored our wishes and hopes ~
hopes dashed in birdland, having their own fish to fry
so to speak out loud
about survival

March of endless winter ~
Winter flying north and then south, again
confusion reigns
destiny soars

Seagulls danced the tango ~
tango in a white dress
never looked so fine
as when I moved

...with Tom in the moonlight ~~
moonlight ocean
never falters
promising something

like spring......
