I found a "writing playlist", hit shuffle, and wrote what the song made me think of.
Song: Jour 1 by Louane

I can feel my heartbeat in my fingers as I struggle to untangle the rope. I used to I find it relaxing to untie knots: I would work the kinks out of the string, watch it unravel into a single line.
It's a lot more stressful when your life depends on it.
Red footsteps interrupt my thought process. He's outside.
The wind picks up, and the lantern in the other room flickers, causing the green light to momentarily fade to yellow.
It's too late.
More footsteps, closer now.
The jangle of keys, and the menacing click of them being inserted into the lock.
The front door opens, and I can see him.
