Feb. 10 prompt for Construct Cup Chinese New Year Edition - personal goal
Deepest Desires haunt me
They are scandent, like ivy covering an ancient wall.
Rising higher, almost exploding with need
Until I can no longer ignore
The incessant call that drips
         like
                    a
                              faucet
No longer can I turn away or deny
The Faustian hunger than ravages my insides.
The die was cast before I was born
And I must fulfill the purpose that was pressed into my soul
The longing it brings
The only release
Is to meet it head on
Stick my butt in the chair
Poise the pen over my page
And let myself bleed out
As I craft a world beyond this knowing
One that haunts my inner sanctuary
One that needs to be told
As only I can tell it.
