A great way to serve your Halloween dip's. A great conversation piece
Jack "O" Lantern Dip bowl

Supplies needed for Jack "O" Lantern:

1 - Medium size fresh pumpkin
2 - Black Construction paper
1 - Red Construction paper
1 - Yellow Construction paper
1 - Glue stick
4 - Straight pins
3 - Salad bowl {black, orange}
1- 24"x24" - piece of Cardboard covered in aluminum foil

Ingredients for the Cheese/ Salsa / Guacamole Dips:

1- large bag of Tortilla Chips
1 - block of Velveeta Cheese
1 - 28 oz Rotel
1 - 28 oz Tomatoes
10 to 12 Avocado's
1 cup Red Onion
2 - Romo tomatoes
1 cup Cilantro
1/2 cup Jalapenos {diced w/juice}
2 - fresh Lime
Salt to taste

Instructions for Pumpkin:

Step #1: You will need a medium-sized pumpkin; use a pumpkin carving kit or a paring knife. You will want to cut the top off like you normally do if you are making your Jack "O" Lantern for Halloween. Remove all the insides, yes all those oooey gooey guts.

Step #2: You want to cut a hole in the top to the size of your bowl. Note: So it won't fall through the opening at the top, you will want to cut it to the size of the middle portion of your salad bowl. You want to cut out the mouth area also, about 3" diameter. Make sure all of the insides of your pumpkin are cleaned out.

* Now the fun part...

Step #3: Take your black construction paper and cut 2 medium to large circles depending on your mouth opening and the top area. These are going to be your eyes.

Step #4: Now take your red construction paper and cut smaller eyes; odd shape if you want, then your yellow construction paper, cut smaller circles for the center of the eye. It also can be odd shaped.

Step #5: Take the 2 pieces of black circle's, stick one straight pin at the top of each one and one in the bottom; then pin in place above the mouth area. Take the glue stick and the red and yellow circle's and glue to the black circle's; Then place them in whatever direction you want them to look, you can make them scary looking. Mine, I used a Sharpie this time, but I have used the construction paper before and it is a better, 3D effect.

Instructions for making the Dips:

Salsa:

In large bowl mix Rotel, diced tomatoes, 1/2 cup diced Jalapenos with juice, 1/2 cup chopped onions, 1/2 cup chopped cilantro and 1 squeezed lime over the salsa. Salt to taste.

Cheese dip:

Melt Velveeta cheese on low heat or microwave. Add 1/2 cup salsa mix to it.

Avocado Dip:

Peel and remove all of the pits from the Avocados; mash all avocados in a bowl, add diced Romo tomatoes, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup diced Jalapenos with juice, 1/2 cup cilantro and 2 cups salsa. Squeeze 1 lime over the top and mix all together.

Assembling:

Place one salad bowl on top of the Jack "O" Lantern fill it with the Cheese dip.

Now you want to put the Avocado dip on the edge of the mouth, piling it up and spreading it thick into a small puddle onto the covered {aluminum foil} cardboard. "Making it look, like he's throwing up."

Put some salsa in 2 small bowls on each side of Jack "O" Lantern. Put some chips in 2 bowls placing on each side behind the salsa bowls.

Hope you "Enjoy your Halloween folks".....
