A poem about bad officiating and umpiring as it appears to players, fans, and coaches. |
| Crunch time in a major sporting event Can seem fictional and routinely absurd - Inconsistent, biased officiating Can be perplexing as well as game-changing; Then, these horrid calls typically stand, Leading to apoplexy and sometimes ejections From the contest. Refereeing can rip apart a team And its entire fan base - Then umpires and whistleblowers Attempt to restore order while ignoring the abuse They're sustaining from players, fans, And adamant coaches. Already facing unbelievably difficult odds, Talented stars may long be remembered For their frequent and gruesome displays, As they express the most contempt of anyone on the planet, That crucial game stolen from their legendary clutches. |
