Why did you walk away?


Why did you walk away? Was it something I said,

or the way I looked at you when you came home this morning?

The smell of shampoo and soap fresh on your body,

the flush on your skin as the glow was still forming.

Why did you walk away? You wouldn't even look at me!

You turned from me and ran, not a single word was spoken.

The absence of emotion left me chilled to my soul,

as you walked through that door, you left my heart broken.

Why did you walk away?Were all those years a memory?

You took with you everything that meant anything to me.

You lied and you cheated causing nothing but grief,

the excuses you gave, way beyond belief.

Why didn't you just stay away?
