-In The Wind- by Keaton Foster In the wind Waits A wolf Impossibly Daunting He The wolf Is all creature Tedious To imagine Harder To express Words Made incapable Ideas Inescapable Such is The horror His eyes Deep His coat Blackness His fangs Stained Red Is every death Dealt by him His soul Non-existent His heart Emotion less Darker still Is he capable Continually He learns Killing Must not become Mundane It must remain At least for him A logical game Predator and prey Victimizer and victim A beginning And an end In the wind In darkness Always Does he lurk Certain truth Clear And precise His view Unobstructed He sees us all While seeing nothing Of significance As much as we try We are And will always be Prey His persistence Unabashed Such a wolf will do What it must When it must We are fools To think any different It’s always hungry Despite such gluttony Its overstuffed gut Yearns to be filled Long before digestion Way before expulsion Internally screaming You must feed me Regardless of desire Absent of Or define by purpose It wants What it wants It must have What it needs Such a beast All creature Won’t be denied I see it well I know it better Dare I say Than most A wolf Impossibly Daunting Physical The representation Him It Fate Never can it be Ignored Unchangeable It must be faced These tedious hands Write aloud Heavy are the scars Burdened Has become my spine This weight This load Must I haul For all of my days Each of my nights Fighting In the wind Nothing survivable… In The Wind Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2008-2017. |
