Love's Dubious Shadow

Life foreshadows tenderness
We must also never guess.
To destinies we will awaken
Find ourselves entranced, forsaken.

Expectations supercede
What most connections fail to need.
Opportunity will not knock
And most don't revel in our shock.

But cause exists to now employ
The promise game, the stoic ploy.
We offer rations, bother most,
But every human now plays host.

Simply strive for certainty
And rival strength's proclivity.
For every awful senses shame
And certain warriors win the game.
