Chapter 2 of a story of a young man who becomes a wizard
The light crept its way down the hulking halls as Jeff picked up the pace- hugging and puffing in his garb as it were. As he reached the last step extending into what can only be called Grige's mine Jeff stumbled a bit trying to get his footing.
Ah! You could fall and collapse on this -it's a good thing I have my wand with me almost hoping the owner or anyone didn't notice. The dry mat seemed to have its own personality sticking to his shoes as it were. Frustrated he reached into his pocket trying to incantation a spell. The dry wall had a rough quality to them.
Hey knock it off! Jeff sighed again this always happens no wonder I'm late- forgetting that he was 3 hours late from sleep and being obstinate as it were.
As he moved his feet in motion the brown wrinkly sticker laughed.
This time with nerve he shouted out a sound- zelepictus! This however did nothing.
Then another man could be be said to move calmly but noisily down the steps behind him. Alarmed Jeff quickly put away the piece of paper and looked behind him. As these days were more together in recent times he took out his wand to be safe.
The figure approached slowly light reaching its way down to Jeff's side. And let out a laugh.
My my how unnerved we are yes? Remarked a rather tall man wearing a cloak of green and hat at that.
This startled Jeff and welcomed him at the time as well- he sensed familiarity in the stranger and put his wand away. The blue glowing stone losing some of its embers as the light dimmed.
A wizard! Why I haven't seen one of you in quite some time. How are you?
The figure laughed again. I am not you if you are not that.
The confidence in the stranger was waning away. Straggler he thought-might even be one of those sea shanty singing types. He sighed-Well so much for that he thought.
So much indeed! I am more like you than you think!
Jeff dismissed the feeling of resemblance out of his mind, replacing it with work. The spell seeming to finally take place as he moved toward.
But the odd man said I did that for you like you did for that. And before Jeff could respond poof in a glimmer of smoke disappeared.
O.k. but he was in the mine now and that took his attention away. Loud and noisy machines swarming around rocky structures and dangerous un even footing, there were gaps peppering the cold ignateous floor, let him know one thing: he was in grige' s mine.
Now Grige was an unusual sort standing out as a behemoth not just in size, he had a 7 foot side frame, but in intimidation as well, he had a gigantic axe by him at all times. However he was known mostly for one thing: talk.
And when I pushed myself to take that giant rock out of my house- they all looked at me as though I was a dragon- you of course wouldn't know that being a wizard.
Not only talkative fairly critical as well as it were.
The money will get me out of here he murmured to himself trying not to let on that there were less interesting things to do.
However Jeff noticed something quite odd on his mail
